R700P .308 HS Precision stock flexing?

I got a rifle used and noticed that when resting on the bipod the stock will touch the barrel. If I pick it up closer to the receiver or move the bipod to the rearmost stud that the stock doesn't touch the barrel. Both action screws are torqued to 55 in/lb with the standard bottom metal.

Any thoughts? I had considered removing some material from the channel to allow for the flex but I don't remember this being an issue on the previous .300 Win Mag 700P that I had years ago.

Are you sure it's an HS Precision and not one of those crappy Hogue stocks?

Pretty sure as it has the aluminum blocks under the action and the wide palm swell like the previous stock on my other 700P.

It is this rifle.

Can you relieve the area it is flexing and touching the barrel without making it look hideous?
