Is anybody using RA 61 brass? I've got a bunch to begin load development with. It will be shot out of a Savage 12 F T/R. Any thoughts are welcome and thanks in advance!

Your "RA61" brass will work fine for you. A couple of things to be aware of. The primer pockets are crimped so the crimp has to be removed by chamfering or swaging. The brass is going to have less internal volume than most commercial brass and your brass will be similar to the "Lake City" Military brass made today. Be sure to start your loads near the beginning recommended loads and slowly work up powder charges, being aware of pressure signs.

I still use a good supply of late 1960's once fired U S 7.62 NATO brass and have very good luck with it.

The RA Brass I have all have rather deep primer pockets. (See Photo) Other than that they shoot just fine.
