Flake should be made to defend his actions so that we can see what his temperament is like under duress. I can think of a few ways to make that happen.
I do feel bad for Kavanaugh but I feel worse that SCOTUS will not operate as envisioned until 2021. Nothing will get done as it is now 4-4. It will be like the other two branches of Government.
This should be a wake up call for America. However, it will not be. It will be trumpeted as a victory for justice.

A 4/4 court is the perfect time to get a bunch of crazy 9th Circuit appeals through as 4/4 votes will affirm them.
