Random 50 BMG powder availability observation

Just a random thought I had...

In my quest for near unicorn-status powder (Varget), I always notice that there seems to be a super over-abundance of 50 BMG powder out there.

Are there truly that many folks out there who own 50 BMG?
-and-
If not, why would the powder manufacturers make so much of it that the market (presumably) seems saturated with 50 BMG powder, seemingly to the detriment of producing other powders?

I don't know which 50BMG powders your are speaking about, however; the military buys lot of 50 rounds, the "lines" are setup and running for this product, it's easier to just extrude an extra ton here and there. Also there's always a lot of pull down 50 floating around.
