Rifle Scopes Range Finder which to choose for 1000 yards?

I need help, I'm trying to get geared up for longer distance, I need a range finder and have no clue which to get. I have seen them in the $250 range, but I don't no how well or how far they will go. I don't have deep pockets so I would like to get something under $500 that would do the job. What should I look for when buying.

My Leica LRF 1200 has always done a super job for me... the new Leica CRF is smaller, waterproof and faster. A used Leica is better investment than a new "cheepie" in my opinion. NV Hunter
