Re: Range Finder
Paul, I am on the same search and every corner, every review all point back to Leica, Ziess, and Swaro. So many of the cheaper LRF's state they will range Deer sized game out to 600 800 1000, but if you check the reviews BS is called on all of them, Leupy, Bushnell, Vortex, Nikon.
I'm looking to range speed goats out to 600, so the CRF 1000 is on my next to buy list.
I contacted Leica about their real world and here was their response "<span style="font-style: italic">Generally our rangefinders can get a reading on deer sized game out to at least three quarters of the maximum rated distance. A CRF 1000 then should have no trouble ranging such targets at 500-600 yards unless conditions are poor."</span>
If someone has ranged actual game or even cattle out to long distances I would like to know as well.
