Must be somewhat commonplace there, I see nobody reacting in any but a casual manner. If that were me, that rat would be getting soccer kicked from one end of the car to the other.

</div></div>It is common to see them on the tracks or sometimes on the platforms but not very common to see them inside of the subway car. They usually avoid people... it's the two legged rats that are the real problem.

It's been about 30 plus years since I've been on a subway in N.Y.
I can't say I've missed it, but I can imagine the changes.
I can deal with bears, coyotes, and natural predators with no problems, but with rodents, and vermin in general, I'm probably not going to play very well.

I have seen lots of Rats in the NYC Subway, but on the tracks looking for garbage to eat..not in cars...
Big' uns.. Rattus norvegicus (Norwegian rat) or HAnnover Rats 10 " body and 10 " tail..sometimes bigger...
