I am looking through my new midway catalog and see that the rcbs 1500 combo is on sale,,, Do any of you hide members use and have feed back on this set up i've been reloading for about 5 years and think this would be a great improvment to my set up.

Prometheus II is much better, but about 8 times the price.

I run the Chargemaster combo with some of the mods / reprograming suggested here and it works very well for me.
I would purchase one again.

However, since I'm already sucked into this thread, I'll add 2 cents. I own two, love them, wouldn't reload without one.
Sure, if you had a year or two to wait and $2500+ then the Prometheus 2 would be cool.

Whats the second best powder system on the market? LOL!!!! I think i will have to stick with my 10-10 scale. I wish i had one of those though. How long of a wait is there for one of these things? Lee

When they work, they're awesome. I had bad luck with two of mine within a week and I'm on my 3rd now. I think I had two lemons or they got damaged in shipment. But in RCBSs defense, their C/S was fantastic and they took care of me quickly and got me a 3rd one out overnight UPS. So far its worked beautifully and has thrown extremely accurate, consistant loads.

Until I get my Prometheus(yes I am getting one) my Chargemaster has been the single best reloading tool I have, it's a time saver, it's repeatable, and it's no Prometheus but it's pretty accurite.

I know its a small sample size - but I ran 50 loads of IMR4895 through my RCBS CM last night loading up some .223 rounds. 49/50 where dead on the desired charge weight. One was an overcharge by .2 grains, and that was because I bumped the bench accidently while it was measuring the drop.
And one a side note - when I 1st got my replacement unit direct from RCBS (see my other thread), I weighed a penny with a piece of tape on it with the weight written on it as a known check weight roughly in the range of weight that I'm measuring my powder charges. Two weeks ago - it weighed 39.9 grains. Everytime I've thrown it on the scale, both with and without calibrating it - it weighs exactly 39.9 grains without fail. That's good enough for me....

I don't reload that much yet as I am just beginning, but I love mine. I had to get one because I love electronics. Natchez processed and shipped very quick.
