RCBS Competition die set .308 question

Here is what I am trying to do. I currently have a competition die set for .223 pn 37201, friction type. I am looking to purchase the parts to convert it to .308.
My question to those that have the .308 set. Are you using an extended Base or will the standard base work?

if you are speaking of the shell holder....i have used the standard one for years w/no tears

Yes, the shell holder is what I am talking about, I am trying to dicide if I need or should use the extended one. Thanks, Scott

you can only use the extended one, the standard one isnt long enough to seat bullets . you dont use the 223 set? do you want to sell it?

I do still reload for .223, and for $38.00 I can get all the components to switch the die to .308, including the extended base. Thanks for the offer, SScott
