I can't seem to have the rubber O-ring last. Has anyone come up with a good replacement (other than buying a collet die puller)? The last time it ripped, the cap had cracked, so RCBS replaced both.

Re: RCBS Power Puller

I would get rid of that and replace it with a Hornady Cam-Lock bullet Puller which is on sale at Midway for only $17.99 which is actually cheaper than the RCBS Pow’r Pull Impact Bullet Puller and works a hundred times better.

This thing works so great and is so much more robust that I don’t understand why anyone would use those kinetic pullers.

Re: RCBS Power Puller

I have an O ring kit that I got at the local parts store, the rubber is more durable an has lasted a while. that an the extra sizes I use as well to put on the dies to help them "float"

I had been looking for a betetr solution for bullet pulling than that darn hammer tool, and you guys have provided it: the Hornady Cam Lock puller.

I just ordered it from Midway!

I'm done with this thing.

For those who like the cam-lock style.... I'm theorizing that you can make small adjustments on the depth without pulling the projectile all the way out? Say, I need to seat for 2.840". I overshoot and seat 2.838". Can the cam-lock pull small increments?

I pull the bulelt out COMPLETELY, and then reseat at the seating station on my press. I keep the decapping die, the sizing die, the seating die, and the cam lock puller "die" in the turret of my Harrell press all the time. That way, if I make a setup error and seat too low, I simply pull the bullet at the cam lock sttation, and then go back to the seating station, adjust the seating die micrometer, and re-seat. Saves time and frustration.

I do the same. I have a Hornady puller, I would not consider it a precise instrment by any strech.

No crimp IF you adjust the cam pullter for the claiber & shape of bulelt you are pulling this session, and if you are not too hamfisted!

If you are too hamfisted, or you msicalculated and applied way too much "interference" fit between the bullet and the case, yes, you can deform the bullet.

Just take your time until you have the technique down.

You're supposed to pound on the other end of that thing. They'll still replace it.

Re: RCBS Power Puller

I like my RCBS although i've broke a few old ones when they still had the metal in the handle. The worst was the cabelas version that exploded the 3rd time I used it.
.
NOW i was talking to a friend the other day. He said his was forster that had "fingers" on the bottom of the die an the bullet was extracted through the top. The die held it in place an then was pushed out when the next case/bullet was pressed through. Anyone familiar with this one? I checked their sight an didnt see it.

If you can tell when you've pulled a bullet in 2 thou increments any collet puller will let you do it.

I can't imagine what it would require to pop the top off any inertia puller like that one.

It was a rap on the tile floor in my kitchen that resulted as photographed. It had seen it's fair share of uses since I purchased it, but nothing out of normal use.

Sure enough.....They just returned my email. It stated that they'd cover it under warranty and replace it as soon as they receive the busted one. Nicely done.
