Looking for any first-hand feedback from those who have used a RDS (such as a T1 or T2) attached directly to the scope.

Background

Like most others I lust for a high end, top tier variable scope but as always, I first determine my needs and then research it to death. My current scope - a SWFA 10 X 42 HD - I'm actually very pleased with but is really not suitable for close range field work. As a user of offset BUIS on a scoped AR, I am contemplating adding a micro RDS to my scope with a mount like the one shown below. Having used Aimpoints for a long time on my ARs as the primary optic, I'm thinking this might be reasonable solution to adding close range capability to my bolt gun.

For any of those who have used this set up, what are your opinions?

Thinking of this exact same thing, but with a 45* right cant in front of the bolt. Interested to hear more about it. There is some company actually making accessory rings with a iron sight setup like ghost rings.

I am also looking this same thing. I'm thinking about adding a rds to my scope via my spuhr mount.

Better to have it and not need it, than to not have it and say oh shit.....

I have a RMR mounted on my Spuhr and it sits perfectly (IMO). It's just out enough to be able to see easily, but doesn't protrude so much as to catch on anything. My rifle's locked up at work right now, but I'll try to get a few pics tomorrow so you can see how it looks. It's a no brainer if you already have the Spuhr.

I run a 45 degree offset red dot on my PRS Gas Gun series rifle. It's a Burris Fastfire III and the 34mm Burris tube mount. I can run it with the protective cover on or off.

BD, that looks like a great set up! I like that it's light weight, sits close to the scope tube and appears that with a minor CCW roll of the rifle, would not require a major shift in cheek weld to use. The price for the combo looks right too without having to change my current scope mounting system.

Thanks for posting!
