Join contest SubscribeBefore you start cutting make sure you have an estimate on speed in relation to barrel length. I started a new project with heard all these great speeds, then when I started shooting i was disappointed cause I was 200fps off of projected....then I ask "what barrel length" the response almost floored me. "Oh that's in my 30" barrel". I mean who in the hell realistically shoots a 30" barrel except in an f-class gun that just sits in a front rest on a bench.
Best I could get with my 6creed with a 24" bartlein was 3086. And I'd occasionally pierce primers so it was a tad on the warm side. No primer issues put me back at 2980.
I couldn't shove enough H1000 to get anywhere enough speed.

Actually close to 3000 with that barrel is pretty decent with H1000. Was wondering what twist rate and what bullet ?Before you start cutting make sure you have an estimate on speed in relation to barrel length.
