26" Bartlein bbl 8"twist >Hearing we should try slower powders than H4350 behind 105-115 bullets . Any experience with Re#26 ?

42.2 with 115 gr Berger and JLKs yield 3065 from 6mm lapua. No pressure

I am using it in my mid range F/O rifle with very good results and no pressure signs.

43.5 gr RL-26
Lapua Brass
BR4's
Berger 105 HB
COAL 2,805

Barrel is a Bartlein 32" 5R 7.5:1

Freebore is .185 and would significantly reduce the starting load with a shorter freebore. Had good results testing H1000 but the RL-26 was working so well stopped load development with it.

I run 47.4 of h1000 with a 105 RDF @ 3150.

I run both new lapua creed brass and formed lapua brass.

Cool. I have a 6mm barrel here and a 6 creedmoor reamer. I have the hopes that h1000 will put me at 3100fps and get me 2000 rounds out of a barrel. I guess time will tell.

Before you start cutting make sure you have an estimate on speed in relation to barrel length. I started a new project with heard all these great speeds, then when I started shooting i was disappointed cause I was 200fps off of projected....then I ask "what barrel length" the response almost floored me. "Oh that's in my 30" barrel". I mean who in the hell realistically shoots a 30" barrel except in an f-class gun that just sits in a front rest on a bench.

Best I could get with my 6creed with a 24" bartlein was 3086. And I'd occasionally pierce primers so it was a tad on the warm side. No primer issues put me back at 2980.

I couldn't shove enough H1000 to get anywhere enough speed.

I'll be running 26". Based on your results I should be pretty close to my desired mv. Maybe slightly less which I'm okay with.

Don't have info on the 6 Creed, but I use RL26 in my 6.5 Creed
I listed info on the 6x47 Lapua with the RL26 just to give you an Idea.

May give you an Idea how it reacts with 6 mm in small cases about the size of Creed.

243 shows good results with RL26 as well.

That's a good point and why my 6mm will have a 28" barrel. With the brake it will be 30" and there's no problem getting around PRS matches with that.

I agree to a certain extent. I run a 24" creed and once you add the 7" Ultra it gets to be a pain in the ass. Especially at the Mouse trap at Rifles Only

If I was to run a 28" barrel and then add my 7" Ultra to my AXMC that would be one huge stick to get in & out of. I guess the only very cumbersome positions would be the mouse trap, rat trap, roof tops or other props that you have to shove the barrel through. Barricades, culverts or tower would be fine as no obstructions in the front of the barrel to fidget with.

Cause of this I've thought about dumping my can and adding the extra in barrel length with a good brake.
But it's dam hard to beat the enjoyment of a suppressor.

Never an issue with the 28" barrel at the mouse trap. Shot on it quite a few times. Just need to move precisely in and out. I would definitely want more barrel over a can of given the choice.

I just gave up on the 6Creed-DTAC-H1000 experiment, and am going back to H4350. In a 28" Bart with 47 grains of H1K, 2950 was all I could get and that was a pretty compressed load. It shot pretty well at 100 yards, but my ES and SD numbers were not great at all. I attribute that mainly to not being in the sweet spot of the node. The next node was down around 45 grains and velocity was in the mid 2800s. I'm just not willing to give up that much speed. With 41.5 grains of H4350, I'm smack in the middle of a good node and getting 3035 FPS. That'll work.

I run R26 in my 6 Creed with the 105 Hybrids. I've got the 110 Sierras but have yet to shoot them. It likes around 45 grains with the 105's. Speeds are a little over 3000 in a 25" bbl. I use R26 because I have a lot of it and it's crazy accurate. 45 - 46 grains of 4831SC gives me closer to 3100 fps with good accuracy.

Just started with H1000 46.5 gave me 3040 out of a 24 inch Hawk Hill. That's enough velocity for me now just need to find that node. I had good groups with 46.5 but had the magneto hanging off the end.

Anyone try Retumbo? I am liking the H1000 but the talk about bad carbon build up makes me want to try Retumbo but it looks like it takes a little more of it to match H1000.

I'm thinking the fact that it takes a little more will make it not work for this application. Guys are already having trouble getting enough h1000 in the cases.

H4831SC has been a good powder for 6x47 so it should be the same for 6mmCreed. H1000 wouldn't work well in my 6x47, slow fps and poor SD.

Personally I'd lean towards R16 for 6mmCreed if you want to try the R powders.

45 grains reloaded 26 105 hybrid crazy good accuracy and sd in the 2 to 3 FPS range. Good stuff

Actually close to 3000 with that barrel is pretty decent with H1000. Was wondering what twist rate and what bullet ?
