Rifle Scopes RE: 50mm Sunshade for Viper PST: OD too small

I am thinking of getting the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP (PST-43128) with the EBR-2C reticle in mil/mil. Does it come with a sunshade?
I notice in reviews that owners complain that the 50mm VORTEX sun shade OD is noticeably smaller...so much that they need to switch down one size in lens cap size(from Butler Creek 40 to a 39).
After paying basically 1k for a scope I really hate that the shade isn't the same OD. Maybe its just me, but I far prefer a seamless look when a sun shade is in place.

Has anyone found an after market shade that fits/looks better?
If I camo wrap the scope that may hide the OD difference. Or not...

Will I need a 20 moa base to reach out to 1000 yards? 24" barrel .308 SMK Federal Gold Match 175gr.
I was thinking Seekins steel base and TPS low 30mm steel rings.

Don't know about the sunshade, as I ordered the same scope in March and it's still backordered. The outer diameter on my 44 mm Viper HS-LR's sunshade isn't smaller.

You'll probably need the 20 MOA base. Elevation adjustment on that scope is 65 MOA, which means you have 32 up and 32 down. Since typical drop for a .308 @ 1000 yards is slightly more than that, you'd have to both dial and holdover, which is not ideal. 20 MOA base solves that problem.

Right. Thanks. 20moa it is. I suspected as much. You know, I saw a photo of an owners gun with the 50mm PST mounted with a sun shade. I dont know if it was a Vortex brand shade, but it looked seamless.
But, I have read in at least 2 or 3 reviews of owners complaining of OD issues. I can do a camo wrap, should be OK. I still dont know if the sun shade comes with the scope I want. Often, even the vendors might not know this question. So, I am asking it here.

It comes with a sunshade.

At least my Vortex PST 6-24X FFP I bought last year did.

And yes on a 20 MOA or even 30 MOA base.

Mine came with the sunshade and it's the same diameter as the scope bell. Butler creek cap fits both.
