I can't seem to get the speed I want out of my long action proof barrel 7mm SAUM so I am going to re-chamber it to either a 7-300wsm or a 28 Nosler. The barrel is a 1-8.5 twist so the 195 most likely will not stabilize. I have a full built 7-300wsm not that shoots the 180 Berger at 2990FPS over H1000. The only reason I am considering the 28 Nosler is availability of factory ammo.
I'm sure others have had this debate. I think Tooter Meredith will do the work even though he did not build the rifle initially. I have a couple of his rifles and they are quality. The rifle originally had a NF ATACR on it but I bought the AMG on the post exchange for it. I put the NF on my proof barrel 30-06 I just finished.
