Can someone tell me when you buy the Nomad 900 etc do you have to download the Ballistic software or does it come with it, the reason I ask is because I have been chasing one for a lone time and I think I have found a place that sells them,

Thanks in advance.

J.

Nomad 900 is just computer. The main applications are around surveying etc.
Field Firing Solutions is a program that lives on an SD card that plugs into a slot under the end cap.

So would I be better off using a Nomad or a Phone/Tablet to run the App/Software,

Reason I ask is because I bought a Phone just for my Shooting Apps and I removed the Sim card so It does not get stuffed full of factory updates, Then it died for no reason, So I just got the mother board replaced and it is working again, But I want something dedicated that is more reliable.

Thanks again.

FFS and Coldbore only run on Windows machines, so people use the Trimble computers which are ruggedized for field use. If you are spending a lot time shooting past 1500 yards it is worth the time/money investment.

For most people, especially shooting inside 1000 yards, Android/iOS phone apps will work just fine (just get a good case and keep it out of the sun/rain).
