I reload so I don't look at ammo prices all that much.
Today I get a smam email from Cheaper than Dirt offering TulAmmo 556 at $19.95 a box of 20.
I just went to their web site and see it's more. WTF? Tulammo.jpgReally?

Is it still that crazy out there or are they "Spendier than $hit"?! Sheesh!

Its Cheaper Than Dirt...they are arguably the SINGLE WORST offender of "gouging" (or your particular descriptor for enormous and unscrupulous price hikes that occur as a direct result of some perceived "panic" or other circumstances like Sandy Hook, etc.) of any major retailer. They have done this same @#$% for years and despite having been on my personal @#$% list, some highly desperate or otherwise completely @#%^ing stupid people still spend their money with CTD.

I wouldn't piss on CTD if the entire company was ablaze and I could hit their owner in the middle of the fire. ;)

They sell garbage. Expensive garbage at that. Why people still patronize them is beyond me. They obviously could care less about their consumers or the shooting sports.

Tula 223rem is $5 and change at the local Walmarts. Limit 3 per customer, but it can still be iffy to find. CtD has outrageous prices on a lot of stuff, but there are still deals to be had. Buy what you want at prices that are acceptable. Don't buy what is "over priced." I bought a few M1 carbine mags from them a few months ago (Jan or Feb). They had the best price to be had on the Internet, and were in stock. Shipping was reasonable and there was no charge for a <$25 order (I'm looking at you Midway!). I've bough lots of ammunition since the beginning of the year and not a single round was purchased at inflated prices. CtD isn't gouging because no one MUST buy their goods and no one MUST buy from them. If they can get 4-5x the going rate, more power to them, but it won't be from me. But, if they have the best price AND that price is a good value, then they will get my business.

There's a gun shop in town selling 556 at $1 per round and has 330 round bulk pack 22lr marked at $89.99. But, they also had a large latch gunfighter charging handle (308) for a price better than any found on the web. I bought the handle, let them keep the ammo.

Another shop is selling 308 FGMM for $49.99, but they have a good price on CCI 200 primers, so I buy primers there.

My point is that almost everyone has something they are over pricing on, but they also usually have a few good deals. Don't cut off you nose just to spite your face.
