Have a question...Is there anything different that you have to do with a belted magnum cartridge in regards to finish reaming? I'm trying to get everything together to try and chamber a barrel blank for a 7mm remington magnum and need to make sure there's nothing funky that you have to do with the belted magnum case. Thanks!

Re: reaming a belted magnum chamber

It's the same as a non-belted chamber. The belt is designed into the reamer and the go/no go gauges are set up to hit the belt recess that'll be in the chamber web.

Re: reaming a belted magnum chamber

As with any chamber, I suggest getting the GO-NOGO guages from the same place that grinds the reamer. Not everyone does it. But to me it's removing a potential variable.

I agree with you...tolerance stacking could be a pretty real issue. I got the reamer and the go gauge from PTG. </div></div>

I have some stuff from PTG. They are good to go. I'm glad you understood what I meant. Some guys think if it saves them $1 it's alright.

Not really just take your time make sure you setup is accurate and be sure the bolt will not close on the no go gauge I like a 2:00 o clock hold on the bolt test fire it clean the chamber and recheck the no go.
