I recently bought a Triad Red Tac Gear rear bag, however am a bit disappointed. The bag is built fine, however I prefer something a little sturdier and less squishy.

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for another bag that may be stuffed more densely? I suppose one that can be opened and have fill added would work as well.

+1 for Tab. However if the Triad Red Tac bag was too "squishy" then so will the Tab bag unless you can talk him into doing something a little more custom to suit your tastes.

Re: Rear Bag suggestions

I've had great luck using a dress sock filled with AirSoft BB's.

WalMart usually has a six pack of size 9-12 dress socks on the rack with olive drab, tan and brown socks - two of each.

I make two sizes; a medium with 4,000 BB's and a large with 6,000 BB's. Just dump in the BB's into the toe of the sock, stretch it so tight you can see the BB's through the fabric, give it a twist, fold and stretch the sock back over the ball you just created, give it another twist and fold it back over itself once more. If you stretched enough, you'll have just enough of the top of the sock left to run back and forth through the wife's sewing machine a few times.

Now you'll have three layers of fabric protecting a filler that's impervious to moisture or rot, and it's not too heavy.

When you squeeze the bag the BB's tend to grab on each other a little, and this allows me to use a good firm check pressure.

My buddies call them Tactical Titties.
