I'm moving this to a new thread so as not to threadjack the OPs thread about his new Savage F-TR.

It gets overlooked in most discussions because it's not as sexy as other gear, but your rear bag and using it properly will save or cost you more points than your bipod.
I run a Sinclair v3, and I really like it, but getting my rear bag right has picked up more points than switching from a Harris did.

so what rear bag do you like?

I use an Edgewood, but it's less about which than how. Bag with ears need to either be so hard that you ride on top of them w/o settling or letting the butt drop under recoil or they need to be soft enough to let the rifle down onto the main bag w/o pushing it up. It took me months to learn to make the ears on mine soft enough and I've fired over 1200 rounds since Jan of this yr mostly in competition. I'm sure I was losing three to five points earlier this yr just due to fighting with my rear bag.
