Hi guys,
What would be my best route to take to have my savage 10fcp swapped to a threaded 16" 6.5CM light varmint barrel? Im trying to avoid shipping everything multiple times ans prefer to just pay someone for everything. Not interested in swapping it myself right now, unless I can get a 16" CM easily.

thanks!

And the other criteria:

short wait....not more than a month or two, will need it before deer season.

not prohibitively expensive. Dont care if its a shilen or a krieger or even a factory barrel, just want sub moa....1/2 great but not chasing it, it will be a 50-500yd deer rig wearing a 3-15 t5.

16" 6.5 Cm why? Is it a 308 now? You'd be a fool to waste your money on a 6.5, if its a 308 unless your going past 500 yards? 308 hits harder with more energy under 500. You would be chopping off the legs of a 6.5 with a 16" barrel. Explain your logic?

Match ammo is the same cost without reloading, shoots flat, less recoil.

same reasons I wouls get a 20" 6.5 over a 20" .308, or 26" 6.5CM over a 26" .308.

And Im not a fool...I was a PH and have shot 50+ mule deer and have seen way more than that shot (and lots of bad shots with magnum calibers). I know what works and I know what I like. I have my reasons.

now back to the original question. Easiest and quickest route to a shorty 6.5CM? Do any of the prefit guys offer them in short threaded lengths?

Its a 500 yard rifle that will be carried around mountains....i dont want or need a longer tube. The only other uses are for fun...maybe a 600 yard turkey shoot we have here.

Possibly a 18", but Im thinking 16". Its a 20" 6.5 right now.

Personally I'd leave it alone does that 3.5 inches make a huge difference no not really

My wife says 4" would make a hell of a difference.

I wanted a 16" to begin with, but got a 20 since there were no factory 16s. But after discovering a wicked large burr on the crown of this rifle, on about half of the bore, and thinking of sending it somewhere for a new crown, I figured why not get it the length I wanted to begin with.
