Re: Rechamber 7.62x39 to .308 possible?
The 7.62x39 has a slightly smaller case head, but who knows if the bolt can fit the .308 or not. What rifle is it? You could easily try a piece of .308 brass or a cartidge in the bolt and see if it will fit. If not, you would have to have it turned out. If the rifle is a Remington, this will mean changing the extractor, but it would be much easier to find a used .473" bolt to trade for. In fact if your rifle is a Remington 700, I would trade you out of your PPC face bolt...
