Never seen an L shaped lug. Maybe alittle gun info would help...I.e. is it a 700, 10/22, etc.

I've seen some Sako stuff like this. I think some Howa actions are done this way too.
There's also been a handful of the REALLY weird stuff out of Germany/Switzerland that's used this. (SeeHubber, Bleikker, G/E, etc)

I picked up a McMillan A-2 this weekend and it is for Rem 700 LA. He said that it was a old Navy stock. Trying to fins out if it is a MK 13 stock. I paid 350.00 for it with the Harris bipod. He had some of the recoil lugs. Should have picked one up.

someone gave me a plastic lug out of a stock for me to duplicate out of 7075. i can't remember what the rifle was it came out of though. maybe a sako?
i am pretty sure the original one didn't have the pillar on it. i think he was going to open up the stock and epoxy in this whole lug insert.
i want to say in this picture, the left would be toward the front. the right side is the recoil lug abutment.
i can't honestly remember if the lug at the bottom of this part was in the original plastic design or not. if not, it could be from the same type of action as you are dealing with. i'll try to ask the person who i made the part for next time i see him.

This one looked to to the same thickness as a Factory one but took a 90 degree turn at the bottom and had about a 1 inch x 1 inch square on the bottom with threaded hole for the bolt.

just found this in a post about the MK 13's. Guess it answers my ?
A VERY long time ago (like back around 1990-1992) I had exposure to a couple/few of the pre-Mk13 300wm rifles that were needing some TLC by the rifle match armorers. They were R700 LA with 26 Hart/McMillan barrels in 300WM, basically put into the shooter's desired stock, normally an A2, McHale or Baker Special. They had 16x Ultra M1As on Mark 4 bases/rings and "adjusted" R700 triggers. I remember them shooting 1-1.5" groups at 300yds with the Win contract 190gr ammo. The lug was a unique design by one of the machinists/armorers. It was a thicker lug and had an extension forward at the bottom with another bedding screw location that lengthened the bedded area of the action to pervent excess stress on the LA by the heavier barrel and twist from the firing. Kind of like sleeving the action, but only on the bottom.

Thanks for the info Nuke. I wish I had picked up a lug or two and the other stock but dont want to take rifle apart to change lug. Hopefully I can find him at next gun show and he will still have it.

If you don't find him, Kevin O'Neill at High Caliber Sales arranged for mine. Have him screw on one of the Shilen 1:10 300WM barrels chambered for the A191/AB43 ammo. Reports of barrel life >2000rds and mine has all indications of being a hammer.

It is a R700 long action. Normally has the M16 extractor mod.
