Some of my favorites for the dollar are Four Roses Single Barrel, McKenna Single Barrel 10 YO, and Mitcher's Small Batch. I also like wheated bourbons like Maker's 46, Wellers 107, and Larceny Small Batch.

For the money I think Eagle Rare is great. For something that’s readily available Old Forester 1920 is very good as is the 1910 if you prefer lower proof.

There are a ton of great bourbons just depends on your budget and local availability.

Good bourbons are about as easy to find as cheap 9mm. If you can find Weller Red, Blue, or black labels-yes. Michter Smalll Batch or Toasted. Blantons is,for some, a reference standard. Also, I really dig the offerings from Smoke Wagon out of Las Vegas... Finally, a bottle of Little Book or High West Midwinter Nights Dram (hard to find this time of year) are very thoughtful as well. On the cheap- Evan Williams Bottled in Bond is an interesting selection.

I'd go with Redwood Empire. They are mainly an NDP bottling blends of Indiana and Kentucky, but they do make and age their own distillate. Their Emerald Giant Rye is my favorite so far. They are up and coming and aging more and more of their own distillate. They aren't ready to bottle their own stuff at decent ages (6+ years) but I'd watch for more of their stuff in the future.

How many ice cubes does it get @armorpl8chikn ???
Hell if you are gonna drink kiddie bourbon, might as well ice it down and dump 12 ounces of ginger ale in it.
