I need my savage 10 to be retapped up to 8-40. To whom should I send it? What is a reasonable cost if I remove the barrel beforehand and reinstall later myself? Would also like to have the 'smith chuck it up in a lathe and make damn sure the front face of the receiver is square as I am planning to add a PTG parallel ground recoil lug. Thanks!
Oh, I am in the Seattle area, would be awesome if they are local!

Give Ken at H&H Precision a call 253-293-8983, he is not too far from you and does great work.

If he can't get you fixed up try JD at High Speed Shooting Systems in Yakima at 509-945-6623. He is a little farther away but does some good work too.

There is also Travis at RBros in Elma, 360-791-4741. Travis has been pretty busy lately and might take a while to get you in but he does great work.

Savage is a bit of a different animal than other actions. When you have them square the face of the action make sure they square it in relation to the tennon threads, not the bolt raceway. Make sure they don't re-cut the action threads either.

ok, sounds like there is more going on than I thought- will focus on retapping the scope mount threads and get some dope with that configuration before putting extra work into it. Not planning on having it blueprinted or reamed out. Thanks!
