Looking for some recommendations to have a barrel installed on a Stiller for a precision build. Seems to me that this is a straightforward job in the right hands, but I expect there is a little more involved in this versus a hunting rig. Any recommendations I should check out? GAP has a 3 month lead although I wouldn't mind getting it done sooner.

Thanks.

There are lots of smiths on the boards here that would fit the bill just do a search. RWS as mentioned, LRI, PVA, Dave Tooley, Phoenix, Spartan, etc.,etc.. They all do precision work and it's got to be good because if not it would rain crap all over them here, tough crowd.

Chad at LRI installed a new Bartlein barrel on my Stiller TAC 30 AW last year and it is a hammer. I went with the 6.5 Creedmoor chamber for the Hornady 140 ELD and it shoots factory Hornady ammo with 1/2 MOA groups the norm when I do my part. And best of all, the turnaround was less than 3 weeks. I would check with him on his current turnaround time. I suspect you will be pleased.

We are working! This time of year LRI becomes a "Hail Mary" for quite a few shops trying to scramble to have products ready for Vegas.

Yesterday we chopped and threaded a PILE of SBR type AR barrels for one client out east. They goofed and shorted us 5 pieces. Those arrive today via Fed Ex and we'll be overnighting them back today once were done.

If you need a barrel stabbed, we can knock it out. I have over 150 different reamers. popular contour/twist/caliber barrels from K/P on the shelf. Our rotation for BA work is 96 hours in/out. CK, fluting, and other finish work does take a little longer, but not much.

Happy to help and we'll treat you right. The path of least resistance is to go to the store and pick it out in the GS section. Populate the shopping cart, pay, print receipt, and send it in WITH THE SALES ORDER. It gets us all the information in a format that we both have visibility on. Once it arrives, just get out of the way, lol. It'll be throttled through the shop and back to you.

We do this stuff every day and have for close to a decade.

Easy!

Thanks.

I’ve had LRI do action blueprinting and barreling on two rifles now and they shoot great. The best part is the turnaround time. Weeks instead of months. Not sure how they do it but I’ve got another build almost ready to send to them.
