Gunsmithing Recommendations for blueprinting a 700 Action

I'm in the market for a Smith to blueprint and barrel my 700, I'd like to use one of the Hide supporters.

Recommendations? I want good work, but probably can't afford the best of the best.

i got a copple of local plumber i have used for years....BUT everyone is buried....every one man show that is worth their salt is busy....get in line....start a relationship with the one that is good and can do 1911's, and cut metal to a knats ass......stuff wears and breaks....most everyone i know got their smithy on speed dial....

Cool I checked out his site, it looks like he does a very thorough job. And a hide member to boot.

I ordered my barrel today and they said its a 8-10 week wait, so I guess I get some time to think about it before I get to choose one.

In the mean time, I may tinker around with making some fixtures to see if it would be feasible to do myself or not. I have a small lathe, not quite big enough to chamber a 30" barrel but it looks like it could do the action all right.

RWS Gunsmithing, Robert is a pleasure to deal with and a excellent smith. He trued my rem LA and re barreled it with a straight taper shilen match grade. Very affordable. And he's a Hide member.
