I have done some looking around online here and cant find any firm information on someone to do some work on a LWRC Upper. I have the M6A3 upper with a 16" barrel. I need to have it cut down to 14.5" and have an AAC SPR/M4 mount perm installed....

Who should I trust to do this?

All help is appreciated

Re: Recommendations on AR15 smith for barrel cut down

I have always heard good things about ADCO Firearms doing barrel chop and threading. I have not been in the AR loop for about a year now so I am not up on the latest and greatest in the AR world but when looking into this before ADCO was g2g.

ETA:
Damn watching the Pats v Colts game slowed me down and I was beat to the punch.

Call Frank White at Compass Lake Engineering. I just had a 24" varmint contour barrel cut to 20", threaded and the contour was changed to lighten it up. With shipping I was charged $73.

I also have a LWRC M6A2 and was told by LWRC that having anyone but them take the barrel out voids warranty. Needless to say I had them do the work. Just an FYI, you may want to call them to see if this still applies if your concerned with it.

I have has AR barrel work done by ADCO. Good price, excellent quality work and fast turn around. They will get my business again.

Re: Recommendations on AR15 smith for barrel cut down

Is there some secret to getting Steve at ADCO to return emails or answer his phone? I have a barrel I want to send, but the inability to get ahold of the guy gives me quite a bit of hesitation sending him work.

Re: Recommendations on AR15 smith for barrel cut down

I seriously doubt that LWRC barrels are chrome lined? mine should not be, I specified against it.

I would have to go thru LWRC anyways to get the new barrel...

+1 for Steve at ADCO. He chopped a RRA barrel and perm attached an A2 compensator for around $70. I actually had travel plans and asked if he could accommodate my schedule, and delivered the upper the day I left.

From what I can tell he's not a bug fan of the phone, but has always returned my emails within 48hrs.
