Can someone recommend a small red dot sight for a Ruger Mark III pistol? I was leaning toward a Burris Fastfire, but there are a lot of similar items and cheaper knockoffs. I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with any of these. (FYI I am not looking to have a huge tube sitting on top of this pistol, something small.)

Re: Red dot for Ruger Mark III

I've been using a burris fastfire II on my .22lr pistol for about a year. It's worked perfectly. Holds zero fine. I think that it's a perfect sight for a 22lr.

Re: Red dot for Ruger Mark III

I have the Fastfire II for my Buckmark, along with a TACSOL barrel and rail. The RD sight in that setup is really nice, especially in full sunlight, and is brighter than my Doctor sight. Shooting 6" round steel plates at 25yds is so easy my wife calls it cheating. It was easy to zero, and while I only have about 500 rounds through it so far, its held zero with no shift.

No concerns at all about the Burris, but I wouldn't go cheaper.

ETA: I know you said Ruger, but they're pretty similar...
