I have an eotech on my AR and is outstanding at close range. I havent shot it alot but I would think 150-200 would be max on it. I got the eotech because it seems less bulky compared to aimpoint

Aimpoint H1 unless you need NV then T1. On the budget side the Vortex SPARC.

I have used a Dockter Optic on an ACOG and it was OK, but seemed to wash out pretty easily.

aimpoint t1/h1, but depending on what your doing, that trijicon rmr is nice too
