So Ive never run a compressed load before and therefor have never had to pay much attention to neck tension? What Die set do I need for this? There are several different competition sets available as far as I can tell. Can anyone tell me what Redding or other Die set to get for this? Thanks

Re: Redding 260 Die set?

Compressed loads (within reasonable limits of compression) won't hurt the die set. If you're crushing the powder inside then you can break die pieces during the seating process.

What powder/bullet/charge are you working around?

Re: Redding 260 Die set?

I use the Redding type S match dies with the neck bushings. These do have the micrometer head for bullet seating. I use H4350 for .260 and don't compress that load, but I do use Varget for .308 and compress that. The Redding dies handle that OK. Be aware when compressing you can put a ring on the bullet from the die and you can get the bullet backing out a bit, both from too much compression.

41.8 H4350 gets me to 2800, bug holes and low ES\SD, I use a .290 bushing, ojive length of 2.150
