Been looking for information on these dies as there are at least half a dozen options. Can anyone help educate me on what die set would be best? I am a weekend shooter, not competitor, but prefer to buy good quality items one time only.

Ive been using Forster dies for my .308 with no problems, but i thought id try another good brand for comparison. I will definitely be getting the micrometer seater and a full length die, but im not sure which "Model" to get. A-S? Bushing dies?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

CJ

For FL sizing get the Type S bushing dies which will require the purchase of a bushing(s) as well. I wouldn't go any other route. For seating the Competition seating die is the best option but a standard seater will work. If you plan on loading VLD's get the the completion seater with a VLD seating stem.

If you really want to get a quality product that's mostly overlooked by folks because of the comp seater die, get the regular seater die and add the # 9167 vld micrometer. I have Comp seater dies for 4 rifles, and the series d seater die upgraded with the #9176 and I can assure you it's just as good for a hell of alot less.

Thanks for the info guys.

AIMSMALL: If im not loading VLD'S, will the vld micrometer work with A-max's? If so, where do you get the upgrade?

Yep, works for secant and tangent type bullets. You can find the seater at midway but the vld micrometer is not in stock. Brownells , Sinclairs , all the major reloading sites should carry them. But like I said Midway has a seater die in stock right now
