Redding bushing size for Lapua 308 brass.

Guys, gona order a Redding comp neck seater die set for my 308 and need some info with what size range of Redding Nitrade bushings would be GTG with Lapua 308 brass, Lapua-berger 175g MOLLy bullets, thanks.

I use about .002 less than the size of the loaded round on a new case. My rifles are tight chambered so I load brass 50 times and dispose of. After about 20-25 loadings I go to .003 const. as the brass is a bit less springy. I know this sounds like a lot of loadings, but I FL size but only set the shoulder back about .0015 so get no case head seperation. I can actually load a case without sizing and keep one set of cases for each rifle. I do not do much brass moving.

Remember, you can go 1/2 sizes by flipping the bushing over and using it upside down. It is tapered and will be .0005 tigher upside down.

Is inserting bushing numbers side up correct for standard sizing whielst turning over yields tighter neck sizing, Do you neck size all of the necks or just part and should slightly more necck sizing be done when using molly bullets when jumping to lands, many thanks for info.

I size all the neck. I do not use molly and try not to jump or not far. I might use tighter if I did.

Many thanks for info, Do you Load using A-max 178g pills, Was going to order a box to try out in my 1 in 10 twist 308 barrel, Cant seem to get the Lighter 155g scenars to shoot but think the 170-180g weight bullets should do ok, Does the A-max 178g bullets generaly yield better accuracy with slight jump or jam to Lands thanks, Paul.

I am fairly uniform in using SMK in my long range stuff and general hunting and Barnes TS in the big game stuff. Just my habit. I am sure the others are fine as well.

Cheaked midway for 175g SMK molly but they seem to be out, Do you know anywhere else that might stock them.

I use a .336 for lapua brass, I neck size first with a .339, the FL with then .336

Powdervalley has 175 SMK moly for 168 bucks

Paul I use a .335 and .336 on my Lapua brass. One lot has a slightly thicker neck. Gives .002" neck tension.

As for the 178 AMAX, load them about .010" off the lands and that should work well.
