I have some cabelas gift cards that I need to use for some reloading supplies. I have settled on redding type s dies. Cabelas list redding dies as series A & B not type S can someone explain this to me please, are they still worth getting?

Never noticed it but I would think they don't sell them because of all the bushings they would need to stock.
Not sure what you would expect from them. The A & B series will load good ammo but you have less control over the amount of neck tension.

If there is a better set I should be looking at that is available at cabelas let me know. I would like to keep the cost around the same. I'm not a good enough loader to step up to $150 dies yet

I am not sure what all they carry, but the forster "benchrest" dies work very well. I use the redding for my 308 and they are great, but the forster stuff works good as well.
Might be worth a look.

+1 on Forster.
I use them too. You can order a FL/Benchrest set and a Bump die with bushing for neck sizing & bumping the shoulder.

I just started another thread asking for help on this same die. I'm new to reloading and need all the help I can get.

They are a great choice but not the only choice.
Forster offers very good dies. I really like their bump dies for neck sizing and shoulder bumping (head space) and their bullet seater has the same type sleeve to keep case and bullet lined up straight as the Redding.

I ended up buying the Type S die from another forum and then ordered a Forster ultra micrometer seating die form Midway.
