Does anyone use either a Forster or Redding Mic head comp seating die with a Dillon S1050?

I read an account of a party having an issue with the comp seating dies because the sliding bullet sleeve hangs so low there is interference with the tip of the round as the shell plate starts to move.

I'm thinking that you could dial the body of the die out of the tool head to gain clearance from the projectile tip. Does doing so remove the benefit of the die to align the cartridge to the seating stem? In order to get full use of the micrometer adjustement range does the body of the seater have to be screwed some minimum distance into the tool head?

Really want to get one of these dies to eliminate guesswork when changing bullet types but I need to find out first if it will work with my machine. Thank you for your time.

I also use the Redding Comp seater for .223/5.56 and have no issues whatsoever, interestingly enough, I am also going to start loading .308 on the 1050 and definitely want to get a comp seating die for those loads. I will get one and report back as soon as I get the rest of my caliber change stuff in hand.

    Awesome!

Not as old as some revised posts but I forgot I had posted this. I sent an email to Frster concerning this and they were going to be looking into it.

There is apost on the Brian Enos Forum in the General Reloading (Rifle) section that indicates there may be issues. Some have cut the cartridge support sleeve back, another guy notched it?, and one guy only screws it the minimum necessary into the tool head to gain clearance.

If I here from Forster I'll report back their solution. If anyone actually gets one for .308 (or better yet 30-06) I would greatly appreciate what you found with press and die in actual use.

    Thank you.
