I followed all cleaning and setup procedures and inspected the inside of the dies for debris. I also removed excess case lube and I'm still getting what you see below.

I thought I overlubed it so I broke the die down and cleaned it. I then put a light coat on my brass... now I have brass stuck in my die! Fml. Now to get a stuck brass removal kit.

You are using too much lube as I was having same issue when I started reloading but dry lube works way better as that can get expensive really fast! Check out mica powder or the stuff in my previous post as it's the way to go!

Now to get a stuck brass removal kit.

All you need is a plain 1/4"-28 tap, a No. 3 drill (.213"), a couple of washers and a 1/4"-28 bolt (preferably grade 8).

Drill through the primer pocket, tap the remaining hole. Place a stack of washers around the part of the case sticking out of the die. Thread the bolt into the tapped hole.

The key here is that the bottomside of the bolthead must bear down on washers, and that force must bear down on the die, thus using the bolt to pull the case out of the die.

Are you using the lyman quick slick, spray lube? That may be your problem. Are you letting it dry before running brass through the press?

I use unique. I lightly rub 1 finger across the lube and that's enough to do 4-5 cases, and I've never had a problem. You might want to try something like unique or Imperial. 1 can should last forever.

I don't know other than go back to #2 reply from Former Naval Person, Did you find that escape hole and run a wire from a tag or something like that through it?
I have seen this a time or two over the years. Possibly the hole is covered by a ring?
I clean mine as a matter of course when cleaning dies.
I have had to clean those holes with oxy/ac torch tip cleaners more than once. Regards, FM

Redding dies lack a vent hole. The bottom of your case is really the only place you need lube, the neck and shoulder not much depending on die. The inside of the neck needs some if using an expander ball.
