1.) Are these sights meant to be used with the base still attached to the rifle?

2.) If so (question above) can they also be used with a picatiny rail mount? I know the M24 did not have a full rail mount. I have a 20MOA slant, full length base on my rifle.

3.) I am using this on a Rem. 700 short action rifle and will have to be taped for mounting of the rear sight, has anyone used this on an AICS stock and know how much material I will have to remove to accommodate the sight? Pics would be appreciated if anyone has done this in the past.

4.) Only piece I am missing is a front sight mount for the globe sight, anyone know where I can get one? Looking the screw mounted type not the dovetail one that requires a huge groove to be cut in the barrel.

5.) I see there are allot of different heights to the front sight mounts to align the front and rear sights. The barrel is 26 inches, Straight taper to .920 if that helps. If I could get the same one that use to be mounted on a M24 it would be perfect.

6.) This rifle is a build is there anything I should consider when placing these sights on this rifle?

Re: Redfield Palma and Globe sight Questions

You can get rear sights that attach to the rail and Globe front that clamp to the barrel. http://www.sinclairintl.com/.aspx/pid=38380/Product/CG-Centra-Rear-Sights

Just curious but is this for backup iron sights? Or are you planning on doing some sort of palma shooting or sling based shooting with AICS? I like the AICS but I do believe that is one of the heaviest chassis systems, and may not be best suited for long strings of shooting with a sling.

Re: Redfield Palma and Globe sight Questions

I know this is going to sound off and I will probably catch some hell for this but I like hunting deer with open sights versus scope. I feel it takes more skill on my part and gives the animal that much more of a shot.

Not to mention I would like to do palma matches. I feel that by doing matches it will get me faster on the action.

Its kinda one of those if I need/want it I have it.

Thanks for the link.

I did forget to mention I just bought a whole redfield palma sight and globe front set, only thing the set was missing was the globe base.
