I have herd whispers of great velocity out of reloader 26 in the 6.5 creed and 260. Anybody running it in a 260?

My current load is 43.6 grains of H-4350 under a 143 Hornady ELDX in Lapua brass. I'm getting 2738 FPS with a SD of just under 8. This is in my 20 inch Tikka T3 TSR-1. Groups are generally at or under .5. I'm very happy with this load but I like everybody else am always looking for something new to try. Anybody running it or have access to quickload data? I really need to break down and spend the $150 on quickload. Until then any help or pointers?

Don't have it anymore, but I had a TRG in 260, and was getting 3080 with RL26 and the 130AR hybrids. The ES and temp sensitivity wasn't the best, but it sure could push a 130 pretty fast. It's worth giving a shot. Good luck.

It has pushed bullets faster in a variety of cartridges I have tried it in. General consensus and what I have observed is it will start to spike if it’s warmer than 85. I think the trick is finding a good wide node and not loading on the upper end of that node. I am currently playing with it in a 6.5 creed and getting some good velocities with 143/147 ELDs. Seeing over 2900 in a 25” barrel but I’m going to back down off that just a touch. I’m running 140 VLDs around 2840 if I remember right but they are shooting very good. I need to run some more for ES but 5 shots that I recorded over load development had ES of 13 and SD of 5.5. I think if you try to push this powder at the fastest speeds it is capable of the ES might start opening up on you. Right now I think it is worth playing with but maybe also worth having a back up load with a more stable powder.

I ran my 47gr load again over the labradar yesterday with both 143 ELDX and 147 ELDM. They are averaging 2930, but ES/SD isn't as good as I would like. I think this is partly because this is a very compressed load in Lapua brass. Brass with more capacity might be just right here. I also think I'm being a little hard on my brass even though I didn't see any real extractor swipes yesterday. I did a velocity/short ladder test with these loads initially, and over a 2.5 or 3 grain spread all 9 shots were under 1" at 200 yards with the 147's. My groups yesterday at 100 were 0.2 to 0.3" with 143's and 147's, so I think I'll just drop down a bit to see if I can lower ES/SD. Speed is plenty good with this combo in my 25" barrel.

This is all great info guys I'm going to pickup a pound and try it next time I get buy the gun shop. I have some virgin Lapua brass but I may start out with some once fired Federal Gold Match brass. I think it will have a little more case capacity.

The rifle I used was a Tikka, Forester 260 Rem. Took me over a year to get the reloads adjusted. It’s now getting a .50” group at 280 yrds (that’s from a lead sled).

Bullets: Berger VLD 140 gr

Powder: Reloder #26, 46 gr

Brass: Nosler

Primer: Win

OAL: 2.81

MOA: @ 100 yrd-one hole (average)
Ligjt barrel, Only good for 4 quick shots. Groups broaden after that. Can nail an 18” silhouette at 1000yrds. This was all accomplished at the north end of Boone, CO where I took a pronghorn on opening day @ 300 yrds.

I have a 260 barrel for my AI AT and did some experimenting. I am going to run 47.7g R26 Fed 210M Lapua Brass and Hornady’s 147g ELD-M. OAL 2.775” in a locals match this weekend. It is a a Compressed load but shoots under 1” at 200 yards off a bi-pod.

Velocities are VERY good 2,950-ish and this combo shoots really flat and bucks wind like no other. I got higher velocities (over 3,000 fps without any pressure signs but the accuracy fell off.

YMMV .... start at 45-46 with the 147’s
