been reloading some 45s of assorted brass and noticed some of the blazer stuff uses large primers (cci300) and others require small primers. I think it would be fine to use small primers on it but the book only states to use the cci300. This sound okay?

Generally throw the small primer stuff intothw recycle bucket. It's not worth keeping track of and swappin priming systems around.

Re: Reloading 45acp Blazer Brass

I keep all the 45 small primers cases in a bucket and when there is a couple thousands pieces, I load them all with any small pistol primers laying around, once done, I go shoot them in a gravel pit and don't pick them up. There is usually a guy coming every month to pick up all the brass and he recycles it, the check goes to the boyscout so it is for a good cause.

Feel free to use it. Just do due dilligence and work the load up. Dont just assume pressure will be ok with either primer.

My main pistol caliber is 45. I have a 2 gallon bucket about 1/2 way filled with these. I was planning on listing them on the local gun owners website for a nominal price (free if need be) once the bucket is full or I'm sick of looking at them. I have a Dillon 550 that pretty much stays setup for 45, and have zero interest in swapping out the priming system from time to time for these bastards. I have enough other types of brass to keep separate.

By the way, I "find" them when I can feel somethinf wrong with my press lever when loading 45.
