Yeah, If the bolt closes when you chamber it and there are no land marks on the bullet when you pull it out, you're good.
You dont really have to trim your brass that far, I trim my creedmoor brass to 1.917"

Ditto what others said, ignore the cannelure. IIRC, the 123gr was made for the Grendel, so the cannelure is probably intended for that case's dimensions...

thanks guys round cambers easy and bolt closes easy. ill get some groups up after I get the barrel broke in

I shot with a friend today who's getting 3100fps with a 136 scenar. Rather impressive, he took about 10 shots at 2073, danced all around it, but never connected.
I can't see any pressure signs either.

out of a creedmoor?!

Yes, he had it faster with the 140 hybrid, it's not very gratifying shooting against it either!
Oh yeah, nobody needs to explain to me that those are 6.5-06, or 6.5saum numbers, I'm well aware.

What powder/charge and OAL is he using? That's some insane velocity

Hey guys, I'm not going to post his load, really nothing special there, will say it's a powder you never hear mentioned on this site, no match primer, just standard shit.
The gun is a Defiance action, 26" Rock Creek M24, JP chassis, Timney trigger, NF Atacr scope, nice rig if you're a chassis fan.

I'm sure our elevation does help, was surprised to see the 136 go into transonic somewhat stable.

That thin air in the 10 ft to the chronograph must make more of a difference than I thought. :-D

More like 3 inches, Magneto speed! Just out of respect for the guy, I can't post it, safety crap too! Wasn't my intention to dangle a carrot!

It's real close to 4350, but I think it's the Rock Creek barrel, he bought 5 more of the same.

Well, pressure is pressure right? I'm not saying it accounts for everything, but doing the math there's a 17% reduction in barometric pressure from sea level to 4500ft*. Using 3100 fps as a marker and 2800fps as a comparison; doing the math (again), there's 10% difference in velocity delta given. So, as I said, it doesn't account for all the difference, but don't think elevation (atmospheric pressure) doesn't have some play in ignition and resistance to acceleration.

*This assumes 14.7psi at sea level and 12.4psi at 4500ft.

Hi,

I confidently predict the station pressure would have almost nothing to do with measured muzzle velocity.

That's fucking ridiculous!

I finally got to the range today. got the barrel broke in and here are my two best groups. now I need to adjust the load a little to tighten it up

I saw a hide member, who shall remain nameless, get a 6.5 creedmoor to shoot 140's at 2950. We were both surprised! Then he hammered the bolt open and ejected the brass, which had blown the primer. I believe his secret powder was an accidental dose of H110. Haha!
Remember to label your powder people!

I am getting an avg of 2910 from 45.1 grains of H4350, CCI BR2, loaded 140 hybrids to 2.936" OAL mag fed in a AIAX. From a Bartlein 23.6" barrel, 5R 1-8 twist. I never hit pressure so I'm going to run more tests up to 45.5 grains. 45.1 gave me 1/4 MOA groups at 175 yards! ES of 18 and SD of 8.
