Reloading scale

I had one of the Frankford pocket scales just for kicks and grins ,google search tells me it was the 750 you are inquiring about.

I gave it away to a new reloader on a super tight budget who was struggling with his rcbs pocket scale that came in his kit that would skip even decimal charge weights.

The frankford certainly wasnt trickle sensitive, it could take half a grain of trickling for it to register a new weight, it wasnt really that accurate when compared to the charge master I had at the time and the rcbs 505 beam scale I have.

The 750 was basically exactly what you would expect from a 20 dollar pocket scale. Not great.

I had read that the gempro 250 warranty was upgrading you to the next model up right after it was discontinued but then I read that they cancelled that program. Might be worth a call to their warranty anyways if you havent done so yet.

If youre limited to under 100 bucks then the bald eagle via grizzly has gotten some decent review that I remember seeing for 80 bucks. I would still expect it to have the same quirks that the gem 250 has though.

I was thinking about getting another gem pro like a 300 or 500 but I don’t see many reviews I also thought about getting a charge master
I would probably get a charge master myself instead of the higher resolution gempro 3-500s if youre up to spending 200 bucks on a scale. I got my 1500 when a sale coincided with an RCBS rebate, got it new for 225 net and sold it a while later for the same.

Sure you only have .1 gr resolution with a CM instead of .02 with the gempro but it also means that you dont have to be actively engaging in weighing out powder which means time and effort savings.

If you must have the accuracy then there are several scales in that price range that Im sure would be adequate, not sure on specifics other than the bald eagle because so many have been discontinued. However I couldnt give up the time savings or the accuracy and went fx120i-auto trickler to have both.
