came across this I think 40X stock up here in the UP of Michigan from a retired guy, might just build it back to original, my question what barrels did they use?
it is Short action single shot, adjustable but pad and rail for palm grip, and 2 screws up front for barrel tention

Re: rem 40X Stock Old one

I have one that is almost exactly the same. It came on a 40XB HB .22 from the CMP that was a "short stock". Apparently quite a few of them were cut down for use by youth shooting organizations and later returned to the Army then CMP.

Re: rem 40X Stock Old one

I had a 222 Rem mag that I got from an old cat that had the same stock. The pad is not original as it should be a hard plastic if I am thinking right. Rifle had the some markings on the barrel that my smith told me was a shilen put on in the early 70's as it was dated.
