Hi all,
I am looking to purchase a Rem 700 LTR in 6.8 SPC in light of converting it to 6.5 Grendel or .30x39 IMP (7.62x39 case).

Does anyone have knowledge of how the 6.8's boltface and extractor will function with the Grendel case going from the .422 case diamiter to .441 diamiter of the Grendel case.

Regards Sam.

left is my .30x39 IMp loaded with 125gr TNT and right is a Grendel loaded with a 123 SMK.

Maybe i should have been more specific about what i was wanting to know.
I am wanting to know if the larger grenel case will fit in the standard 6.8 SPC bolt face without modification or if so does the standards extractor function properly with the bolt face relieved enought to enable the larger case to fit?
Also does the grendel case fit and function in the 6.8 SPC magazine?

Regards Sam.

No, it will not fit.
Also the magazines and followers are different. This doesn't mean that you will not be able to stack them but might require you bend the mag lips and
also might not end up being reliable.
Best thing is to get a 7.62x39 / PPC bolt with the proper extractor and for the magazine you can try different follower.
I use an AR15 magazine system in the rem700 so I can switch barrels and mags if I want too but then on these two calibers one max Coal is limited by the longest magazines that is 2.31 or so.\
