The title basically says it all. I just purchased a Bushnell HDMR for my 700 build. Just need advice as far as mount and rings for it. Anyone that has the same setup are welcome to share their experience. Thank You.

I'm using an Egw HD 20moa base with aadmount low rings on an aacsd with ss 5-20x50. This allows for flip caps with a couple mm to spare. Not sure what the od of the hdmr is but maybe this helps.

From the thread up top,,,

To make it easy,

40mm or less - low rings all the time
50mm obj - low rings on < 5 contour
Medium rings > #5 and up (strait barrel get med high)
56mm obj Medium on < 5 contour (sometimes med high)
Medium high on sendero contour
High on >7 contour

34mm...
50mm objective - lows will work all the time
56mm objective - lows < sendero or #5 contour Sometimes lows will fit number 7 contour barrels, but it depends on how long the shank is after the smith installed it.
Highs for sure anything larger than #7

This is assuming our ring height and our rail height. Also using buttler creek caps. YMMV...

I bought the lowest badger rings for my HDMR, it's going on a weaver rail. Hopefully? My gun is at the Smith being inletted right now, havn't really seen if this combo will work or not. May have to get a better base myself,,,

I have the same rifle and scope. Rifle is at the smith now but I am using a seekins 20moa base and seekins low rings. I hope this works. Will find out when my rifle gets home. Will post up when I get it back.

Seekins rings and base will get you there. It depends on how cheap you want to go, but IMO seekings are well priced and high end. SWFA has good prices on them also.

Re: Rem 700 AAC-SD scope mounts and rings help a newb

YOU NEED 6-48 SCREWS FOR A STANDARD REMINGTON 700 ACTION! The AAC-SD uses a standard Remington Action with holes for 6-48 screws.

I am in a similar boat. I'm getting the HDMR for my 5R very soon. I was thinking about using a QD style mount, but no one seems to make a low (1 inch or lower) 34mm QD mount. So I have decided to get a badger 20 MOA base and 34mm low Seekins rings. I am anxiously waiting to hear Cajun's results with his setup.

I am running Seekin's low rings and 20 moa base on my AAC-SD and the setup has worked well with IOR 50mm and SS 50mm scopes. Nice and low with just enough room for Butler Creek caps.
