Ok, so I have a fully built and blueprinted 700 sa that I'm in live with. It's an M40 replica. Trouble is, my bolt has a badger knob. Not so spec for this build. What would be involved in putting a bolt from a different rifle in it? I imagine having the lugs trued. Any other problems with this? Or, just having the handles swapped. I understand they're only brazed on from the factory. Is that a possibility? Inform me please...

You could have the bolt handle removed and then have a stock one timed and welded on. Any of the smiths here should be able to hook you up. SAC, APA, LRI. Or just pick up a take off bolt and send it in with the rifle and have it trued

You can just as easily have another bolt set up for headspace on your action as a spare. If your action has been trued your new bolt will need to have the lugs cut to headspace the same. Not a big deal.
