From some exellent advice gotten here, decided to get my Rem 700 "right." Lotta filing and fitting, I think I'm on my way.

Here's the gun: 6.5 CM, Bugholes bbl, Rem 700 action(that needed lotsa help) XLR Chassis Leup 6.5 - 20....

First adjusted trigger to about 1.5 lbs. Tweaked LoP to get the right fit.

Files used, L to R:

1/4" x 5 Brownells ceramic gunsmithign files ( square and triangle) 3/16 round 3/8 round.

Started with the 3/16 and then the 3/8 to groove the front of the receiver bottom for longer COAL bullets from mag. How rounds sit in Mag required a large cutout:

Next moved to the bolt lugs. Bolt was really "sticky" did not move well on the racewaysa at all. Took the 1/4" square ceramic file..... Here's what it looked like at mid-point (at start looked much worse)

Here's where I ended up (bolt moves much more freely, but not at all sloppy. Maybe some JB polishing paste next, or maybe a bit more filing. Might not look alot better, but runs alot better:

Top of lugs looks better than this.

Its a start anyway.
