Gunsmithing Rem 700 Detachable mag to hinged floorplate

If your rifle was delivered from the factory, as a DBM model, you cannot use it as a hinged floor plate model. The action rails are too wide, in order to allow the DBM to fully enter the action/ The "feed lips" are on the DBM and not in the action.
Depends on whether the stock has been inletted for the Detachable Box Magazine (DBM). If so, stock bottom metal may not fit as it will be too small. If it hasnt been inletted, the hinged floorplate/box mag should bolt right on, assuming you are using a Remington stock or a stock that will fit the hinged floorplate.
Is there a reason you want to go from DBM to hinged floor? Seems like most shooters go the other way by replacing the hinged floorplate with an aftermarket mag setup.
