Gunsmithing Rem 700 extractor replacement?

Hi I have a Rem 700 in .223. Haveing problems with it not extracting the shells. How do you replace the extractor? Do you have to remove the ejector. Any help or links would be great! Thanks

Is it a snap in or rivet in? If it is a newer model it's a snap in, if it's older it could be rivet in. The ejector does not have to come out in any case, and a small punch or flat head screwdriver is all that is necessary to remove the snap in variety. If it is riveted, then it requires a little more doing.
