Gunsmithing Rem 700 jewell trigger help.

Hey Guys
Im kinda new to this and need some help. I just got a jewell trigger for my rem. 700 sps tactical .308. It put the trigger in ok (well I think ok) and the bolt release seems to "stick" a little, even more when I put the stock on. Everything else functions great. What have I done wrong. Im sorry if this has already been posted and I didnt see it. Thanks all.

I can't remember exactly what I did but I needed to file the link for the bolt stop so everything would fit and work. I also needed to open the stock around the trigger just a small amount so it would fit and not rub.

It sounds like you may have a "burr" on the bolt stop ( the flat bar that sits in the slot....that is what the release lever moves out of the way ). It happens sometimes when installing the trigger and can easily be fixed. Just remove it and run it over a wet rock on both sides until it slips easily in the slot of the receiver. Re-install and make sure the release lever is not hitting the stock when you push it up...

If the stock is hitting, just relieve the stock a little with a file or dremel.

The Jewell triggers are wider overall than the stock one. You may need to relieve the stock just a little.
