Howdy all, I’m a newbie to bolt actions, but not to precision shooting or other guns. Anyway, I’ve had a Rem 700 300 WM Sendero for a couple years now. Only used for hunting mulies in west Texas, but now I want to shoot it more for long range Precision and push my hunting capabilities too. It wears a Leupold Vx3i-LRP 8.5-25. I recently bought a Mars Rail for it and want to throw on a night vision clip on I already have. Received the rail and found the action screws I currently have are too short and maybe the wrong size. Everywhere I’m reading it says 6-48 but now I’m reading it might be 8-40? Am I going to need to tap it for bigger screws? Will some longer 6-48’s work? Thanks for the help!
